Unicorns Do Not Exist
People do not like it when you mess with their mythical beasts, that became plainly obvious when I first shared this piece with people. The statement claiming the nonexistence of horses that possess large, ivory horns, made a lot of people throw up their hands in disgust.
I get it—people like to believe in fair tales, because real life seems so unimaginative and lame sometimes. However, allow me to pose a question. Would you rather be someone that is one of a kind, second to none, and rarely seen in life, or would you be a animal that only exists in story books and Hollywood movies?
Would you rather be the only sun in a wide open sky, or would you rather not exist at all?
This piece was not meant to knock, or demean any regal beasts (even if they are figments of your imagination). Instead, I give you this message because I want you to require more from yourself than fantasy. My wish for you is to shine like the sun, instead of hiding behind fairy tales.
I want you to go be awesome, and let the whole world know you really do exist.
